Thanks to everyone that attended the meeting on June 26th. Your active participation kept the meeting lively and interesting. The most wonderful part of a group like this is the sharing of knowledge. You'll find that Remedy group members are very eager to share knowledge, no hoarding in the Remedy community, which is kudos to all of you!
For a second time Northern Trust has proved a gracious host to our group. We appreciate the efforts of Glenn Itano making the arrangements, the great refreshments, and Northern Trust's large Remedy contingent participation. Our company hosts make this group special and we look forward to continuing this course.
Gordon Owens, generationE, provided good information on various aspects of CMDB and Asset. Gordon's relaxed personality made it easy for people to ask questions and for discussions to ensue. Thanks Gordon not only for the presentation (slides attached) but the extra effort to get to us, hope the trip home was smoother ... but there were those ominous clouds when we left the building !
We have to extend special thanks to Tom Collins and Andy Maimoni, bmc, for fielding all of our questions and issues regarding bmc Support and the Support website. Andy did a great job being diplomatic considering our group is open to everyone, customers, vendors, partners alike. I'm sure there are discussions going on regarding topics that we covered. Tom and Andy even volunteered to return to another meeting!
Our Q & A session was interesting as it always is. A great feature of a group like ours is that sharing of knowledge and what better way than to throw out a question and get answers from your peers in the meeting. Be sure to bring your questions to the next meeting too.
We were able to acknowledge Matt Reinfeldt's hard work getting our new website up and running. I really like the online registration feature. There is a subscription element you need to sign up for and once you do you'll get notices of upcoming meetings automatically. Although we certainly encourage you to check the website regularly. There will be alot more content here since we are sharing the site with other regional RUGS.
Kinetic Data, generationE and bmc provided door prizes, for which there must be a more 'professional' term to refer to them. Who doesn't want a prize ! Thanks.
And we cannot forget to thank generationE for providing lunch for us for the third meeting in a row! What better way to spend a lunchtime but munching while discussing Remedy. Thanks to Jeff Cerny and generationE.
Our next meeting will be late-Sept to early-Oct timeframe and we hope to see you all there. We're extending the meeting to cover a bit more of the day to allow us to have more presentations. Some suggestions already in are Approval Engine, Data Migrations, and Crystal Reports (for which we have a volunteer presentor already!).
As always, please let us know what you'd like to see at meetings or on the website. Post here or feel free to send Matt or I an email. You know that Matt loves enhancement requests !!
Keep in touch, watch the forums!
Thanks,
Susan
