WWRUG 11 Conference Schedule App

September 1st, 2011 No comments

For anyone with an iDevice of one sort or another (iPhone, iPad, iPod, etc.), you can now install the ‘WWRUG11 Conference application’ by Anders Wilhelm from the iTunes App Store.  It’s a great way to keep track of all the events going on! (Thanks Anders!)  Sorry, but I’ve not seen anything for the Android platform yet, but if I do, I’ll post it here, too!

Enjoy!

MWRUG Follow-up

May 20th, 2011 No comments

I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who took part in our gathering on May 10th.  Doug Mueller gave a very insightful (and entertaining!) overview into the “What’s New in 7.6.04?” topic as well as some of the reasons behind some of the direction BMC is taking on the Suite today.

Overall, it was a successful get-together, and I cannot wait to do it again!  I’m hoping we can do something early in 2012, so keep posted!

Take care,

April 27th, 2011 No comments

As I said on the ARSList today, we’ve been able to pull together a MWRUG meeting on May 10th.  All the information and registration information can be found on the Column Technologies website (use this link: http://www.columnit.com/index.php?option=com_redevent&view=details&id=30&xref=31).

…and, here’s some exciting news: Doug Mueller will be in attendance for the morning session!!!  He’s agreed to come and make himself available for a Q&A session and maybe talk a bit about ARS/ITSM 7.6.04!

Please go to the site and register!  I can’t wait to see everyone!

MWRUG Meeting – Spring 2011

April 21st, 2011 No comments

Folks,

I’d like to get a meeting together sometime in the next month or so, and I’d like to see how many others would be interested in attending.  I know there haven’t been many meetings outside of WWRUG in the last year or so, and I’d like to get that changed.  I don’t have an agenda as of yet, but I believe the really big topic is BMC Remedy 7.6.04 and ITSM 7.6.04.  Obviously, given the interest in cloud computing, other potential topics are SaaS (Remedy OnDemand, for example), Managed Services, Hosted vs. On-Premise, etc.  Additionally, I’d like to see who’s pushing self-service in their organizations (and maybe someone wants to do a case study on this?), utilizing RKM and SRM (I don’t care, really, if it’s home-grown, BMC, Kinetic, or some other 3rd-party solution).

Of course, I’m open to suggestions!  So, before I go too far down this road, who’s interested?  Leave your comments below! (must be registered)

Thanks!

New Remedy User Groups Site!

April 4th, 2011 No comments

Hey Everyone!

I’m sure it’s easy enough for you all to see that there have been quite a few changes here!  Let’s just say that the old site had become very dated and difficult to maintain and leave it at that.  I also needed to change hosting providers (for multiple reasons), which also preempted the change.  So, if you previously had an account on the site, you’ll unfortunately, need to re-register, as the back-end software has changed, and migrating the accounts is not very feasible at this time.  I truly apologize for the inconvenience!

On to the positives!  The site is now powered with WordPress, which has a lot of innate features to it that I think will be beneficial to the community.  I’ve also set up forum and community membership plugins which should mean a single login for everything.

I’m transferring over most of the information from the ‘pages’ on the old site, but will likely not bring over the forum information.  I think that the old system there was just too clunky for anyone to use (sorry about that!).

Going forward, if anyone has a new RUG they want to maintain here, please contact me and we’ll get it listed and let people subscribe to it.  I will do my best to stay up-to-date on all such requests.

Additionally, this will be a ‘registration-only’ site… meaning, you can browse without logging in, but to post anything, respond to anything, etc, you’ll need to register an account.  This is for accountability’s sake only.  We’re all professionals here, and we’re trying to build a solid community, so registration is key to that.

Since this site is being paid for by me, you may see some advertisements or a ‘donation’ box… sorry, but I’m always open to assistance in that area!  Just the nature of hosting websites…. so I hope no one takes offense at it!

Lastly, the site is really going to be driven by your participation.  Please register an account and begin mingling!

Welcome and enjoy!
